I was using this connect my iPhone headphones to my MacBook Pro but from the very beginning I had to have the headphone jack pushed in just the right way to get proper sound. The paint on the metal tips scrape off making it look cheap and nasty.
Buyer beware.I have replaced it with a cheap Radioshack extension cable and all these problems have gone away. The rubber insulation also attracts a lot of dust, which isn't so easy to clean off.I would not recommend this to anyone.
This is the worst cable of any kind I have ever bought in my life. I lived with this annoyance for 8 months, but after that it started cutting off sound intermittently.I haven't even mentioned the cosmetic problems yet.
So I know for sure that it wasn't the iPhone headphones that were causing the problem. Despite its good looks and feel, it has turned out to be very flaky.
It involved fidgeting with the tips every time I had to plug it in.
I still have not been able to understand what causes the right audio channel to die in a few months time, especially since it keeps happening with all the cables including the replacements I have received. I would not recommend this cable because of this issue. Even though this cable looks very nice & solid, unfortunately it does not perform as nicely. I bought this cable to use headphones with my Sony LCD since I did not like the big wireless headphones. If someone has been able to figure this out and knows of a better solution, please let me know as well. As another reviewer posted, after a few days of use the right audio channel starts to cut off. Unfortunately since my purchase, I have had to get them replaced via Belkin RMA 3 times. If you bend the cable and apply pressure towards the female connector, it seems to work sometimes, but its very flaky.
The problem seems to be located near the female end of the Belkin extension after error correcting and maneuvering the cable around in various ways. I needed a good extension cord for my headphones so after reading the good reviews this cord received, I decided to try them out.From the get-go I had to clamp the heavy metal end of the male side to keep it from sliding down and not inserting properly into the speaker jack.After that, everything went well for awhile, although the metal ends were a little heavy while moving around and extending the cord.Then the right side of the headphones would intermittently cut on and off. It was not the headphone cord itself as I tried the headphone cord by itself and moved the cord around and there was no problem so it was in the Belkin extension itself.
It also seems imposable to tangle, which is great. The cable has a soft, flexible feel to it. Great buy. While there is nothing exciting about audio extension cables, this one comes close. It has a great feel to it, and what seems like heavy duty metal ends.
I use it with my ear phones, but it has other audio applications. It is perfect in every regard, made of the highest quality. Yes it is just an extension cord but the advantages are not only to maintain high fidelity with its shielding and O2 free copper core but in addition the connections are strong and secure, the cord drapes ever so finely which eliminates tangleing, unlike all the rest.
